Hey there! I’m Claire—world traveler, language learner, and English coach for curious kids. I help children connect with English in ways that feel fun, meaningful, and natural—so they want to keep learning, not just because they have to.

I’m not just here to teach English — I’m here to end the “I can’t speak English!” struggle for good.

Kids learn best when it feels natural. That’s why I bring real-life language learning into my online classroom — like learning on the street, but safer, fun, and story-driven. My “teaching through stories” method has been proven over 10 years to get kids talking, laughing, and learning without even realizing it.

Because let’s be real — to learn a language, you have to speak it.

Books alone won’t do it. Kids need confidence to speak, and that’s exactly what I help them build. When they feel safe using English, they grow into powerful communicators with global opportunities at their fingertips. And it all starts with having fun while learning.

‘Emma is super happy! Here's what she told me about her lessons:

“I'm happy to learn new things, the activities are fun, I can give my opinion, Claire is nice and always helps me if I don't understand something.”

Your lessons are also helping her to be more confident in her English lessons at school, it's a weekly meeting that she's happy to attend, and she said she also feels more confident with her speaking skills.

What else can I say, thank you!’

Stefania, Emma's mom

I don’t believe in perfection. I believe in communication.

My first language barrier hit at 13, working at horse stables in Texas. My co-workers only spoke Spanish, so I learned a few basics to connect with them. That curiosity led me to study Spanish in high school, then take a scholarship to university in Spain.

After five years of studying, I thought I was ready — but stepping off that plane, I understood nothing. A friend gave me the best advice: “If you really want to learn Spanish, don’t hang out with the Americans.”

That’s when I truly got it: languages aren’t learned in books — they’re learned in real conversations, by making mistakes and trying again. That’s how I learned Spanish. Then Italian. And now, I share that same messy, joyful, practical approach with the next generation.

Because kids don’t need to speak perfectly — they just need to be brave enough to try.

For all you Curious George's out there, here's a bit more information on how I went from a curious 13 year old to the trilingual, business owner, Teacher Claire.

BEHIND THE SCREEN[S]

BEHIND THE SCREEN[S]

Claire is a great teacher and is extremely professional. She gave English lessons in my classes in one of the best schools in Rome, in the Trieste neighborhood. The students and their parents were enthusiastic about the lessons. Her lessons are dynamic and engaging.

Us teachers are people too!

In my free time, you'll find me...

With my hands in the dirt in my tiny terrace garden, snowboarding when there's enough snow, cooking because I love eating, running or biking because I'm an energizer bunny, on a walk with my enormous furball Alex, reading, hanging out with the people that light me up, writing, reading, travelling and visiting my family.

I'm not so keen on...

Maths and all things numbers, mosquitoes, the slugs that eat my vegetables, Cambridge tests, leggings, impatient people, ice cream, bureaucracy, dishonest politicians, talking on the phone, hanging out the laundry, dresses, the I-phone alarm, oysters, warm beer, the color red, badly subtitled Netflix series, bad wifi connections and swimming.

My favourite things are...

The color green, the autumn, horses, scuffed up Vans, bananas and coffee, every vegetable on the planet (yes, even Brussel sprouts!), EDM and techno but also rap (not trap), pizza margherita, Mario Kart, The Lord of the Rings, old bikes, the smell of fresh baked bread, and the children's section of any bookstore.

My Bucket List

  • Have a farm - complete with chickens, goats and even a donkey!

  • See the Northern Lights.

  • Snowboard in the Rocky Mountains.

  • Write a children's book series.

  • Learn to rock climb.

  • Read all the Harry Potter books.

  • Visit Iceland.

  • Run an ultramarathon.
